Here at Agave, we are focused on
teaching children about how to
properly ride and take care of horses.
Our riding camps consist of riding
lessons in an arena setting, time on
the trail, safety and instructional
classes, and learning horse
communication skills in a round pen. I
feel it is important that kids are taught
how to effectively communicate with
horses, and the best way to do that is
by learning the language of Equus.
The students will spend some time in
the arena learning how to interact with
their horse with just body language. By
the end of the week, campers will know
how to saddle, bridle, care for their
horse, and control them. They will also
know breeds, colors, parts of the
saddle and bridle, and horse safety.
All Summer Camps are 5 days and last
eight hours long each day. On Friday
evening, we will have an exhibition
show and BBQ so the parents can see
what their child learned throughout the
week of riding camp. The day summer
programs will be for children ages 7 &
older. Limited enrollment will be on a
first come, first served basis upon
receipt of the deposit and completed
application.
After you send in the application and
deposit, we will send out a packet with
all the forms that are
required for your child to saddle up
and come to horse camp!
Summer Camp
The horse knows how to be a horse if
we will leave him alone... but the riders
don't know how to ride. What we
should be doing is creating riders and
that takes care of the horse
immediately. ~ Charles de Kunffy
